Concrete Narratives

Acharnes, Greece

Our studio’s ethos is deeply humanistic, embedded in the belief that building meaningful relationships with suppliers and makers whose values align with our own sits at the core of sustainable design. At Scorpios Bodrum, our process was shaped by the ongoing partnership with the family-owned Athenian firm, Twelve Concept, a well-established artisanal producer of bespoke stone and concrete installations.

Our recent collaboration in bringing Scorpios Bodrum to life was rooted in a reciprocal commitment to sourcing high-quality sustainable materials through fair and ethical means. We resonate with Twelve Concept’s openness to experimentation in pushing and developing materials to create unique new forms throughout our partnership, alongside their fine balance of steeping technological advancement in an ongoing dialogue with traditional craftsmanship.

The unique designs created represent our soft modernist approach to redefining the Mediterranean vernacular, evoking relaxed, unfussy scenes of old workbenches and rural kitchens. For our chosen concrete mix, we carefully curated a distinctive combination of sand, soil, gravel, and natural oxides sourced from the surrounding geographical region. Each piece stands as a testament to the fusion of cutting-edge design and artisanal craftsmanship, resulting in unique shades and tones.

These creations emerge across the project, from the exposed terraces to the latticed halls of the rituals temple. Partnering with Greek artisans enabled us to weave a connection to the spiritual home of the Scorpios brand, imbuing each space at the agora with a sense of authenticity and a resonant story beyond their physical forms.
